Klopp not keen on Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he is not interested in the position of Chelsea manager.

The 44-year-old is reportedly one of the candidates to replace interim manager Roberto Di Matteo as Chelsea boss at the end of the 2011-12 campaign, but Klopp has affirmed that he has no intention of leaving the Bundesliga champions.

“I will not move to Chelsea. I can turn them down right away,” Klopp told Sky.

“I feel honoured that I’m being mentioned in the same breath as (Pep) Guardiola and (Jose) Mourinho, but I am not available.”

Meanwhile, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has also stressed that Klopp is going nowhere this off-season.

“I don’t care what Chelsea are doing. Chelsea are not an issue for us. Jurgen Klopp is going nowhere,” Watzke told Bild.

“We will keep working together, regardless of what happens. That’s Jurgen’s point of view, and my opinion as well. He did not recently sign a new contract until 2016 without a reason.”

Klopp joined Dortmund in 2008 and led the club to sixth- and fifth-place finishes in his first two seasons before guiding them to the Bundesliga title last season.

Dortmund sit top of the German top-flight table with a five-point lead over Bayern Munich, and reached the final of the DFB Pokal final on Tuesday.
