Borussia Dortmund boss Juergen Klopp says he is in favour of implementing a ‘time-out’ rule, which he claims will make football more entertaining.

The 45-year-old coach believes the addition of the ruling can be worked easily into the game, and that it will add a new tactical dimension.

“The rule is there in handball and basketball,” he told German newspaper Tagesspiegel.

“But in football? No-one seems to care. If a coach can take a brief time-out to explain to his players what needs to happen, it can add excitement to the game.”

Klopp also had a word on his touchline antics, which have become his trademark.

“I am worse than the players in terms of aggression,” he said.

“I am really afraid that if I stop coaching, I will take it into everyday life.

“I could not be any other way. I am just happy that my way of working seems to be successful.”

Dortmund start their Bundesliga campaign at home to Werder Bremen next Friday.
