Klopp says big spending is coming

“Liverpool is an ambitious club and if we didn’t spend the same amount of money as others, we wouldn’t be able to compete,” the Reds boss said. “Everybody’s splashing the cash, so we have to do the same.”

Those are the words of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has confirmed that Liverpool next to spend money during the summer transfer window in order to keep up with the teams around them. The club are coming off the back of a season in which they captured the European Cup for a sixth time, which was considered to be a phenomenal accomplishment. Now, though, the focus turns back to the Premier League, as the Reds continue to go in search of their first league title since the rebranding of the top flight back in 1992.

They’ve already got a strong squad, but a few extra faces certainly wouldn’t hurt ahead of what is bound to be another gruelling season.
