Germany striker Miroslav Klose will play for Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund in Sunday’s Bundesliga clash having shaken off a knee injury, while captain Mark van Bommel remains unsure of his future.

Klose, the top scorer at the 2006 World Cup, sat out training last week with a knee strain, but passed a fitness test on Friday and will partner Luca Toni up front against Dortmund.

Bayern are fourth in the league after suffering their third defeat of the season at Hamburg last Friday.

“He (Klose) looks good,” said Bayern coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who will be without banned Italian Massimo Otto for the Allianz Arena clash with Dortmund.

Klose’s inclusion means no place in the starting line-up for Podolski, who has not played a single game for Bayern since November 2008 and the 23-year-old will re-join Cologne in the summer.

Meanwhile, Bayern captain Mark van Bommel has said he is no closer to making a decision about where he will play next season.

The 31-year-old is out of contract in June and is considering whether to sign a year’s extension.

“I do not have a time period in which to decide, I’ll see what happens,” said the Dutchman.

With Ukrainian midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk joining Bayern from Zenit St Petersburg in the summer, van Bommel will be fighting for his place as defensive midfielder, but Klinsmann is happy to wait for a decision.

“Mark is appreciated here and we are happy to give him time,” said Klinsmann.
