ESPN understands that Lazio will not look to cash in on Miroslav Klose, following the Germay international’s record breaking goal in the World Cup semi-finals in Belo Horizonte yesterday.
The 36 year old netted the second of his sides seven goals against hosts Brazil yesterday to take his personal all-time tally at the competition to sixteen, one more than previous record holder Ronaldo.
He will now be keen to add to that number in Sunday’s final, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday against either Argentina or the Netherlands.
Klose has been in Serie A for three years, and has scored forty goals in ninety-nine appearances in all competitions since signing from Bayern Munich while he has also played for Homburg, Kaiserslautern and Werder Bremen.
Germany are unsurprisingly the new favourites to win the World Cup, and the three time winners can be backed at a price of 8/11.
