Koeman given Barcelona order?

According to a recent report from Marca, Ronald Koeman has been told by Barcelona club president Joan Laporta to give two players more minutes.

Laporta, who has been at the heart of plenty of debates in his time at the Nou Camp, has reportedly informed Koeman that he wants to see Riqui Puig and Samuel Umtiti get more minutes throughout the course of the season.

Ronald Koeman has had a pretty turbulent time at the club since taking over as manager and during the most recent summer transfer window, a number of high profile exits only added to the pressure that he seems to be under. Barca’s squad is nowhere near what it once was and if they’re serious about competing both domestically and in Europe, something has to change – and Laporta seems to believe Umtiti and Puig could hold the keys to the castle.

If not, then we’re likely to see the strain on their relationship grow even further.
