Everton manager Ronald Koeman has expressed an interest in signing Chelsea forward Diego Costa on loan, according to Sky Sports.
The Spain international’s future at Stamford Bridge appears to be all but over after a summer of speculation linking him with a move away from the Premier League champions.
He is keen on a return to former club Atletico Madrid though the La Liga outfit are unable to register any new players until January due to a transfer ban.
The news comes days after the Toffees completed a record deal for Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson.
There are two weeks until the transfer window slams shut and Koeman is keen to continue strengthening as he looks to guide Everton into the top four amid stiff competitions.
Costa moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2014, racking up one hundred and twenty appearances in all competitions, scoring a total of fifty-nine goals.
