New Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman would like the club to sign five or six players, but as relayed by AS, he is aware that he wouldn’t be realistic to expect such a spending spree in this, financially challenging moment for the club. Therefore, he has identified three names as primary targets.
The Catalan club had long been trying to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan and the striker is reportedly keen to make the switch, but Inter simply don’t want to let him go for anything less than €111 million – the release clause set in his contract. The 22-year-old Argentinian has been on hot form for the Nerazzurri lately, and has played a big part in their quest for the Europa League glory. Inter face Sevilla in the final of the competition on Friday.
However, with his contract not ending before 2023, the Serie A club won’t have changed their mind on the transfer demands.
The other two names are Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, who was previously linked with Real Madrid, and Manchester City defender Eric Garcia, who has already informed his club of his wish to leave.
