According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has made Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia his main targets this summer.
Garcia, who currently plays for Manchester City, isn’t likely to get much consistent time in the starting XI this season – which could well open the door for him to make the jump over to the Nou Camp.
Depay, on the other hand, is one of Lyon’s leading men and has been able to completely reinvent himself after a poor stint at Manchester United a few years back.
Koeman was never going to be shy in changing the first team squad in his own vision and this serves as undeniable proof of that. It’s a managerial appointment that could prove to be a masterstroke by the board but in equal measure, it could all fall apart.
If nothing else, that kind of intrigue is going to keep people watching.
