Germany legend Juergen Kohler has doubts as to whether Dante has what it takes to succeed at Bayern Munich.
The former Roten, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund defender feels the Brazilian is a decent player, but stressed that he remains unproven at the highest level following his summer move from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
“I find Bayern’s situation in defence very interesting, the two centre-back positions in particular,” Kohler wrote in his column for TZ.
“This is not their best area in my opinion. Dante is certainly not a bad player, but Bayern are aiming high in Europe, and it remains to be seen whether he has the quality to succeed at the highest level.”
The 28-year-old defender featured for the full 90 minutes in Bayern’s opening two Bundesliga games.
