More news coming out of Italy these days and more about Aleksandar Kolarov. Couple of days ago we wrote about the development in his situation at the club and that the captain of the Serbian national team could be getting a new contract at AS Roma. However, there is more to that story according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspapers are claiming that Kolarov – whose contract is set to end in the summer of 2020 – would get a new deal that would keep him at the club until June 2021. But that is not even close to the end. The new contract would have an option for another year, which could keep Kolarov in Rome until the summer of 2022.
This means that Kolarov would be close to turning 37 if that happened and that is why Gazzetta are also saying that Kolarov could be offered to opportunity to work in the club’s sports department, at one of the senior positions once his career ends. That would also mean former Lazio left-back would finish his career at Roma.
