Koln striker Anthony Modeste accepts Tianjin Quanjian move

The French forward Anthony Modeste has accepted a lucrative offer from Tianjin Quanjian and will be moving to the Chinese Super League this summer.

The German media outlet Express is reporting that Anthony Modeste has accepted a bumper three-year deal that would have his earn as much as €10.23 million per season.

The 29-year-old Koln striker is also set to become the Bundesliga club’s record transfer with the Chinese side said to have agreed to pay €35 million to secure Modeste’s services.

Agent Franjo Vranjkovic and a lawyer Chris Farnell representing the Chinese side have successfully brokered the deal on Monday and Modeste is expected to finalise his Tianjin Quanjian move this week.

Anthony Modeste scored 25 goals in 34 competitive outings last season for Koln. Premier League side West Ham were also in the running for the French forward but the Hammers stood no proper chance against the financially dominant Chinese.
