After celebrating ten years as a player for Manchester City, Vincent Kompany has revealed that he wants to remain tied to the club in some way, shape or form for the rest of his life. The Belgian has been arguably one of City’s greatest ever defenders throughout his tenure at the Etihad, despite the fact that he’s spent a large portion of the last few years on the sideline through injury.
Still, the 32-year-old seems to have a lot of gas left in the tank, and even when he does hang up his boots he wants to continue his association with the club that really thrust him into the limelight.
Kompany noted that he’ll continue to be tied with City either as an employee, a fan or an ambassador of some kind, and given what he’s been able to achieve with the club, it seems likely that he’ll be given some kind of alternative role after his playing days.
