The coach of Ghana Premier League outfit Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu, says he is saddened by the departure of Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure.
Konadu, according to a report on MTNFootball, is unhappy with the idea of losing his talisman, who was declared the Most Valuable Player in the Ghanaian FA Cup last term.
“I am sad that Toure, who is our top scorer this season, is leaving the club whilst the league is in progress,” Konadu said.
“But the club has no option than to let him go because management needs cash to run the club successfully.”
“We would use part of the monies raised from his sale to recruit decent players to fill the gap created.”
Toure will have a medical at Egyptian club Al Masry before making a return to Ghana on Monday to prepare for what is likely to be his last league game on December 14.
