Ukraine hotshot Yevhen Konoplyanka has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a summer switch to Sevilla.
Los Rojiblancos emerged as the favourites to win the race for the midfielder’s signature and even went on to confirm their interest in the 25-year-old, but it is now clear the player will not be moving to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
With his current contract with Dnipro set to expire in less than two weeks, Konoplyanka has made it clear that he wants to play Premier League football next season.
“My priority is to play in England. That’s where I want to continue my career and I will do that,” he told Futbol 1
“Maybe clubs have met with Dnipro, but I can only say what I want to do.”
Having performed at a very high level for both club and country for several years now, many expected Konoplyanka to move to a top European side a while back.
However, he opted to wait for his contract at Dnipro to expire, making sure he is the only one who decides on his next destination.
The likes of Liverpool and Tottenham are among his suitors, with the Reds reportedly having the upper hand.
