Teun Koopmeiners has been linked with Liverpool recently as the Merseysiders seek to reform their wavering midfield section as soon as possible. While admitting being flattered by such reports, the Netherlands international insists he is fully focused on Atalanta and very happy to be playing for the Serie A side.
Further more, Fabrizio Romano claims Atalanta have had no contact whatsoever from Liverpool regarding Koopmeiners as of yet.
The 6′ defensive midfielder is contracted to Atalanta until the summer of 2025, and the club have the option to extend the bond by a further year.
Koopmeiners is obviously an important player in Bergamo, having played in every single one of the 17 Serie A matches his team have been involved in this season, 16 times as a starter and once coming on as a halftime substitute. In those matches, the 24-year-old scored five goals and produced two assists, helping Atalanta stay in the top-four race.
