Koscielny heading towards Arsenal exit

Rennes are closing in on the signing of Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny, according to Metro.

The France international has been pushing for a move away from the Gunners, and last week refused to travel to the US for their preseason tour so he could concentrate on finalising a deal.

Now he looks set to return to his home country after agreeing personal terms with the Ligue One side, who finished tenth last term.

Koscielny moved to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2010 and has since racked up over three hundred and fifty appearances for the club, scoring twenty-seven goals while he helped them clinch back-to-back FA Cup triumphs in 2014 and 2015.

He has been capped fifty-one times by his country, with his one and only international goal so far coming in a 3-0 friendly victory over Scotland in June 2016, just ahead of that summer’s European Championships.
