Kovacic comments on Chelsea future

“For now, I am happy here. The city is amazing, the club is one of the best in the world, and my team-mates are great. I need to respect my previous club, Real Madrid. I can imagine myself staying here, but I have a contract I need to respect, and that is what I will do. For now, my business is to give my best every day.”

Those are the words of Mateo Kovacic, who has stated that he can imagine himself remaining at Stamford Bridge. That’ll come as music to the ears of many Blues fans who have been able to see Kovacic come into his own over the course of the last few months, quickly establishing himself as one of the most consistent members of Chelsea’s first team.

While there’s still half of the season to go, the initial signs are certainly very good regarding his future in English football.
