Bayern goalkeeper Thomas Kraft has explained his reasons behind the decision to leave Alianz Arena.
The 22-year-old decided to reject a lucrative two-year contract and is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“I have always stressed that I want to play and that I don’t want money just to sit on the bench,” Kraft told Bild.
“As a young goalkeeper I need match practice. Therefore, I see no future for me here in Munich.”
Kraft has lost his place in the side following the departure of Louis van Gaal and the youngster believes that was a clear sign that he should move on.
The 22-year-old understands Bayern’s decision to go for Manuel Neuer.
“I can understand why Bayern are committed to Manuel Neuer. He is Germany number one and a very good goalkeeper.
”Should he come to Munich, I wish him all the very best and hope that fans will stand behind him just as they stood behind me.”
