Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos feels the club should hang on to Dutch winger Arjen Robben for as long as possible.
Robben’s contract with the German giants runs out at the end of next season, and there has been speculation he could seek a move elsewhere.
Kroos, however, said Bayern should hold on to Robben no matter what the price and said the club need to move to tie down Robben immediately.
“We know that he can put in performances like he has done in recent weeks. That’s why he can always be an important player for us. There should not even be a discussion about his future,” Kroos told TZ.
“You have to look at the general picture. You can’t say after one bad game that he should leave, and then stress after a good game that he deserves a new deal all of a sudden. You should have a general opinion of a player and then decide whether he should stay or go.”
Bayern Munich’s sporting director Christian Nerlinger said earlier this week that the club are nearing a new deal with the 28-year-old Dutchman.
