Toni Kroos signed a new contract with Real Madrid last summer, keeping him bound to the club until the summer of 2023, and at the time, he spoke of it as potentially being the last one for him. A year later, AS report that nothing has changed, despite some murmurs about a potential departure arising in the meantime.
There were talks of a disagreement with head coach Zinedine Zidane, as well as the club’s supporters losing faith in his quality recently. Stories appeared, mentioning interest from China and the MLS to see the German midfielder play there. Real’s links with players such as Eduardo Camavinga and the rise of Fede Valverde as a serious competitor for a place in the starting XI only added fuel to the fire.
However, while a return to his homeland after the expiration of his contract hasn’t been ruled out, the 30-year-old simply isn’t interested in playing anywhere outside Europe.
