Toni Kroos has welcomed the arrival of Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich and believes the Spaniard will enhance their squad.
Thiago’s transfer to the Bundesliga champions was announced on Sunday and Kroos expects his arrival will give them even more strength in depth.
The 23-year-old midfielder plays a similar role to the youngster but is not worried about an increased competition for places, insisting that it is something everyone at the club is already used to.
“The coach has to find a place for him in the team,” he said. “I think he brings us more quality. He’s a good player who can help us. I think he fits in our team because of his way of playing football and our coach. Therefore good players are always welcome.
“It (competition for places) already happened last year that some very good players sometimes had to stay on the bench, and it will probably be like this again in this season and then we will see who it is.”
