Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos says he is in excellent physical shape and does not need to be rested.
Several Bayern stars have been dropped from the side’s starting 11 in less important games this term in order to recuperate, but Kroos has been present in almost every fixture for the Bavarian giants.
“Of course, we play a lot games and it’s quite intense. However, the coach gives us a day off regularly between the various games. And I’m only 21, I can deal with a few games,” Kroos told Goal.com.
“If I’m feeling injured, I will obviously inform the coach about it. I’m feeling very well though, so that’s not really an issue at the moment.”
Kroos also reflected on his side’s 3-1 Champions League win over Villarreal earlier this week and was pleased that Bayern had secured top spot in Group A.
“We knew that we had a chance of securing top spot if we won our game. I didn’t pay any attention to the other game (Napoli’s 2-1 win over Manchester City). We deserve to win the group. That has nothing to do with the other teams.”
Bayern play at Mainz in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
