(GSM) – Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt is not seeking a reunion with Rafael Benitez and wants to stay at Anfield.

Speculations were rife Benitez wanted to bring his former pupil to his new club Intenazionale but the Dutch striker insists he wants to stay at Anfield to win trophies with the Reds.

Kuyt’s relationship with the Spanish manager is known to be strong after four years together on the Merseyside but his bond with Liverpool is even closer as he pledged his allegiance to the Reds once again.

“Of course I want to stay,” the Dutch international told Sky Sports. “Unfortunately in my four years I haven’t won anything but hopefully in the future, I will still have that chance.

“We will have to see what happens but hopefully the manager wants me to stay.

“I spoke to people at the club and I know he wants to speak with me. But it is very difficult at the moment because we are so busy and focusing on what lies ahead.”

Kuyt will participate in the World Cup Final on Sunday when Holland meet Spain.
