The agent of Dirk Kuyt has confirmed rumours that his client is interested in a return to Feyenoord.
The Dutch forward is widely tipped to leave Anfield at the end of the season and his former club have expressed interest in his services.
A number of Serie A sides are also keen, but the player’s representative explains that Kuyt would prefer to remain at Liverpool.
“He would prefer to stay at Liverpool,” representative Rob Jansen told Algemeen Dagblad.
Nevertheless, if Liverpool chiefs decide to offload the Dutchman, his agent already has a plan B.
“If that doesn’t happen, then it is very likely that he will choose a new foreign adventure.”
In case Kuyt decided to return to Dutch Eredivisie, there is only one club he could play for.
“If he did ever return to the Netherlands, then it would 100 per cent be for Feyenoord. I am going to Liverpool in the next 10 days to talk to them about Kuyt.”
Kuyt, who joined Liverpool in an €18 million deal from Feyenoord in August 2006, should be allowed to leave at the end of the season as the Reds prepare major squad rebuilding.
The Dutch international has started 19 Premier League games this season, while making 9 substitute appearances.
