Competition: French Cup Final
Market: Kylian Mbappe to score 2+ goals
Odds: 11/8 @ 888sport
Looking to mark their return from France’s enforced break and lift a piece of silverware on Friday night, PSG will face off against Saint-Etienne from behind closed doors in the capital.
Starting with PSG, while the French giants might have been handed another Ligue 1 crown due to football’s enforced break, Thomas Tuchel’s side were in the midst of a real purple patch. Still firing in this year’s Champions League and with their sights firmly set on European success, fans around the capital will be hugely excited to see Kylian Mbappe back in competitive action. With Les Parisiens putting in a rampant display and picking up a 4-0 romp against Scottish champions Celtic in a friendly contest earlier in the week, the 21-year-old scored after just a minute against the Hoops on Tuesday evening. More impressive, he had also recorded six strikes in just his final three domestic contests prior to the break. Bagging a hat-trick against Lyon in the semi-final of this year’s French Cup, a free-scoring Mbappe should be looking to once again hit the ground running on Friday night.
As for Saint-Etienne, while Claude Puel’s men might have enjoyed an eye-catching build-up to France’s football’s return, their issues prior to the break were certainly a growing concern. Collecting just a pair of Ligue 1 points over their last seven top-flight contests before the interruption and hit with shock defeats against the likes of Metz and Brest, the one-time Leicester boss has also seen his men gain a worrying reputation for their rather glaring problems on the road. Remarkably, Saint-Etienne had lost each of their last seven straight contests away from the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, shipping at least a pair of strikes in all bar one of those appearances. With Mbappe now recording four goals in his last three meetings against Puel’s side, we’re backing a similar outcome in the capital on Friday night.
Bet: Kylian Mbappe 11/8 to score 2+ goals against Saint-Etienne for Friday’s French Cup Final @ 888sport
