AS Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe has this season emerged as one of the hottest prospects in world football with his impressive displays for the Principality club gaining plenty of interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.
The 18-year-old forward struck 26 goals in 44 appearances for Monaco this season, helping the French outfit to their first Ligue 1 title in last 17 years and guiding them toi Champions League semifinals.
According to the French media outlet L’Equipe, Manchester City and Real Madrid have stepped up the chase to sign Mbappe this summer, even though the player has been strongly advised to remain with Monaco for another year.
However, the player himself suggests he has no fear of leaving Monaco and hints toward a Real Madrid move, admitting he admires compatriot Zinedine Zidane.
“Zidane made me dream, and still does when I see certain videos”, said Mbappe, adding that he will have plenty of time to think about possible transfer after his summer duties with France.
“I will have the time to think about all that, but no, I am not afraid of leaving.”, he added.
Manchester City and Real Madrid are both thought to be prepared to splash out as much as £104 million for Mbappe’s services.
