Dust is yet to settle after the ground-breaking announcement that Neymar is leaving Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record deal but another high-profile transfer story is starting to appear on the horizon.
Highly-rated AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe, who enjoyed a stellar season for the Principality club, has made up his mind, according to reports from French media outlet L’Equipe, and is reportedly keen on leaving the French champions this summer.
Real Madrid have recently emerged as frontrunners for Mbappe’s signature. The 18-year-old player is preferring a move to Los Blancos although their fierce rivals Barcelona appear willing to join the race for the exciting prospect after losing Neymar.
Barcelona need to find a replacement for the Brazilian superstar and several reports are suggesting that the Catalans are prepared to go head to head with Real Madrid in a transfer tussle.
There is no doubt that Mbappe’s decision to leave AS Monaco will generate further interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs but it appears that we are going to witness a two-horse race for his signature.
