La Galaxy to rescue Kaka from Real
Spanish newspaper AS has revealed that LA Galaxy are readying bid for Real Madrid star Kaka.
The MLS side are preparing for life without David Beckham, whose contract runs out in December, and they want the Brazilian to be their next star player.
In addition to his playing qualities, Kaka would be a real magnet for fans and the club chiefs are aware his arrival would also boost marketing revenue.
The first contact between the two clubs was made during Real Madrid’s US tour when the two teams met in friendly match.
Kaka is looking to leave Santiago Bernabeu in search of first team football and he was given permission to talk to interested clubs, but his hefty wage has put off most of the suitors.
This is where LA Galaxy come into the picture, given that the MLS side are more than capable of matching the player’s high wage demands.
The highly rated midfielder has three years left on his deal at Santiago Bernabeu, and Real Madrid would jump at the opportunity to remove the player from their wage bill.
Juve’s Lichtsteiner on PSG radar
Paris Saint-Germain are pondering a move for Juventus full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner, Le Parisien understands.
The Saints have already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva this summer, but they are still searching for a new right-back.
PSG seemed to have ended the search yesterday as they agreed to sign Anthony Reveillere from Lyon, but the transfer fell through after the player failed the medical.
As a result, they were forced to pursue other targets and Le Parisien claims the French giants have turned their attention towards Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner.
The Swiss international enjoyed a bright start to his career in Turin after joining Juventus from Lazio last summer and he is considered an important member of the squad.
Even so, the Bianconeri could decide to sell if the price is right, given that both Mauricio Isla and Martin Caceres can operate at right back.
Stephan Lichtsteiner is one of the most complete full-backs in world football and as such would be a great addition to the squad at Parc des Princes.
Toulouse defender talks up Arsenal move
Toulouse defender Cheikh M’Bengue admits he is attracted by the reported interest from Arsenal.
The 24-year-old has long been considered one of the best left-backs in French Ligue 1 and he has seen his name linked with top European clubs.
Media reports are now suggesting that Arsenal could make a move on the highly rated defender and M’Bengue confesses he is flattered by the interest from the Gunners.
“When a big club like that think about you, it’s nice. It’s really flattering,” the player explained to L’Equipe.
“On top of that, the Premier League is a competition where I want to continue my development.”
Toulouse, however, have no desire to sell one of their most prized assets, and it looks that M’Bengue will stay at Stade Municipal for at least one more season.
Despite his fragile age, the full-back has already made 110 Ligue 1 appearances for le Tefece.
