(GSM) – Los Angeles Galaxy have won the 2010 Major League Soccer Supporters’ Shield, beating Dallas 2-1 on Sunday to finish first in the regular season classification.
The Galaxy needed a draw to secure the top spot in the Western Conference and win the Supporters’ Shield, which is award to the team that performed best in the regular season.
It was no easy task however as Dallas drew first blood at the Home Depot Center, with Atiba Harris finding the target in the 22nd minute.
But David Beckham restored the balance in the 33rd minute and Juninho put the Galaxy in the lead right after the break.
As such, LA Galaxy are the first-placed team for the play-offs ahead of Real Salt Lake, New York RB, Columbus Crew, Dallas, Seattle Sounders, Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes.
