Substitute striker Lassad struck just seven minutes after taking the pitch as Deportivo La Coruna edged Hercules 1-0 on Monday.
It took until the 73rd minute for Deportivo to get on the scoresheet at home, and it came courtesy of some excellent set piece work by the Galicians.
Midfielder Saul took a free kick outside the area and sent a lofted ball to the right edge of the six-yard box for Argentinean defender Diego Colotto.
Colotto nodded towards Lassad, who met the ball at the face of goal and headed past Hercules goalkeeper Calatayud for the Tunisian’s first goal of the season.
Deportivo improve to 12th on the La Liga table with 17 points, while Hercules fall to 14th with 14 points.
