Getafe’s winless run stretched to seven matches after they were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom side Real Zaragoza in La Liga on Monday.

The Madrid-based side have not won in any competition since beating Sporting Gijon in late October and even a home fixture against last-placed Zaragoza could not snap their shocking run of form.

It was the visitors who took the lead at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez when Nicolas Bertolo found the back of the net in the 34th minute.

But the hosts were level just four minutes after half-time when Adrian Colunga converted from the penalty spot.

Getafe’s hopes of ending their dry streak were given a boost when Zaragoza’s Leonardo Ponzio was sent off for a second bookable offence with just under 30 minutes remaining, but the hosts could not find the decisive goal.

The draw leaves Getafe in 12th spot in La Liga, while Zaragoza remain rooted to the bottom of the table, three points adrift of safety.
