According to ESPN, Zenit St Petersburg defender Bruno Alves is a target for Athletic Madrid in this summer’s transfer window.
Alves, who has made 54 appearances for Portugal has also been linked with a move to Porto as the Russian side look to bring Hulk the other way.
However, the defender’s father has said that his son would welcome an approach from the La Liga club.
He said: “Bruno would have no problem going to Atletico, once there was an agreement with Zenit”
Athletico would certainly be an attractive offer for the Portuguese international, they won the Europa League last season and look set to have another successful campaign this time out.
It seems as though he is not happy with life at Zenit and after being offered to other clubs, is sure to want out of the Russian Champions.
Alves is not your stereotypical kind of defender, he is good on the ball and likes to find a pass to feet. His style of play could be perfectly suited to the Spanish top flight.
The 30-year-old put in good performances for Portugal at the European Championships this summer and has already featured for Zenit in the league as the Russian top flight is underway.
