Osasuna came from two goals down to claim a point in an entertaining 3-3 La Liga draw with Valencia on Monday.

The six-goal thriller was notable for its regular goalmouth action and a sterling Osasuna comeback after they had trailed 3-1 with 30 minutes to play.

Without an away win since February, Jose Camacho’s side travelled to Valencia to face a team who had lost just two of their last 11 matches in all competitions.

That confidence was shown in abundance in the first half, with Roberto Soldado turning in a fine cross from Juan Manuel Mata with his left foot after just 24 minutes to give the hosts the lead.

Lithuanian defender Marius Stankevicius doubled the advantage eight minutes later when he reacted best amidst a goalmouth scramble and hooked his shot into the net.

Some strong build up play from Masoud Shojaei brought Osasuna back into the match when the Iranian provided a looping cross to the back post which was headed in by Juanfran after 40 minutes.

Valencia re-established their two-goal advantage when Aritz Aduriz met an in-swinging corner from Joaquin with a thumping header from two yards out.

But Osasuna fought back in the second half as Miguel Flano took advantage of a blunder from Valencia custodian Cesar to fire the visitors back into the contest.

With half an hour to play, an equaliser seemed inevitable as Osasuna besieged the Valencia goal with a wave of attacks.

And there toil would be rewarded in the 87th minute when Carlos Aranda smashed home from close range despite some desperate Valencia defending.

It was no more than Osasuna deserved and they went close to snatching a winner late on.

The result sees Valencia remain in sixth, 15 points behind table-toppers Barcelona, while Osasuna are 15th, three points above the relegation zone.
