Voetbal International has learned that Sporting Lisbon winger Zakaria Labyad has been the subject of interest from Turkey.
The Portuguese club attempted to offload the player in the summer transfer window, but having failed to succeed, they are hoping to receive an offer from the countries where the transfer window is still open.
Once such proposal has arrived from Turkey, with Eskisehirspor hoping to sign the player before the deadline on Friday.
The problem is that Labyad has no intention of going to Turkey and would rather return to Dutch Eredivisie.
However, as things stand now, he will be remaining at Sporting at least until the winter, and he could even have a long-term future at Estadio Jose Alvalade if he accepts a pay cut.
Labyad’s high wage is the biggest obstacle at the moment for cash-strapped Lions, who have surprisingly enjoyed a bright start to the new Primeira Liga campaign.
