Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette is believed to have made a verbal agreement to join La Liga side Atletico Madrid in the summer.
Spanish radio station Cadena Cope has learned that the prolific Frenchman has given thumbs up on a move to Vicente Calderon last month when he met with Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin.
Lacazette received the vociferous backing from his compatriot Antoine Griezmann, who is thought to have played a vital part in the reported verbal agreement between the French player and the Spanish club.
The 25-year-old striker has revealed earlier this year that he would be looking to leave Lyon at the end of the season with his announcement alarming the host of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Atletico Madrid seem to have won the race for his signature and will now have to make it all work with the French club.
Alexandre Lacazette has been in superb form this season as he already has 23 goals on his tally in 25 Ligue 1 appearances.
French striker added another four goals for his club in domestic and European cup competitions.
