Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has not ruled out a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid, as the full-back softened his stance on a potential switch.
After initially claiming the only way that Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho would be able to work with him would be to take over at the Bavarian side, Lahm was coy when asked if a move to the Spanish capital was possible.
“I don’t want to exclude anything in the future,” Lahm told Sports Bild.
“Therefore, never say never. Mourinho is a top trainer who has enjoyed a lot of success.”
The Portuguese tactician is looking to strengthen his La Liga-winning side for next season, but could meet with strong opposition from the Bayern board if he were to launch a bid, given their captain is contracted to the club until 2016.
Lahm is currently on international duty at Euro 2012 with Germany, who take on the Netherlands in a Group B clash on Wednesday.
