Lallana may need to submit transfer request to secure move to Liverpool

Adam Lallana may have to hand in a transfer request in order to push through a move to Liverpool, according to the Express.

The England midfielder, who is currently preparing to feature in this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield though Southampton are not keen to part with any of their star players.

Rickie Lambert was allowed to complete his switch from the Saints to Liverpool, with the South Coast club stating that they would not deny the striker the chance to return to the club where he began his career.

However they will battle to keep hold of the rest of their first team squad, many of which have emerged as targets from a number of Premier League big-hitters.

Lallana won his fourth full international cap in Friday evening’s 3-0 win over Peru at Wembley – England’s final home game before they begin their World Cup campaign against Italy in Manaus a week on Thursday.
