Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is keen on raiding his former club Norwich City for midfielder Wes Hoolahan, the Mirror understands.
The two clubs are already scheduled to meet in order to discussion the compensation dispute around goalkeeper Jed Steer, who swapped Carrow Road for Villa Park last summer.
Hoolahan played under Lambert at Norwich for three years, where together they won back to back promotions.
The Republic of Ireland international has been used sparingly by Canaries boss Chris Hughton this season, appearing in less than half of his club’s Premier League fixtures and starting just five, so a reunion with Lambert could well be on the cards.
He has however played in both of the last two league games, and is in line to feature against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon where the Norfolk-based side will be hoping to end a run of six games without a win.
