Norwich City manager Paul Lambert was full of praise for his team after their 3-2 English Premier League victory over Swansea on Saturday.
Norwich trailed to Danny Graham’s strike for Swansea in the 23rd minute of the match.
But the visitors became only the second team to win at the Liberty Stadium all season thanks to two goals from Grant Holt and another from Anthony Pilkington.
Graham pulled one back from the penalty spot with three minutes to go, but Swansea proved unable to force an equaliser.
Lambert said the win was a just reward for his side’s considerable efforts.
“I thought we deserved the win,” he said.
“From the off we were excellent and we passed the ball around really well, and then Swansea scored against the run of play.”
“But we were terrific in the second half and I always thought we were in the game. We gave as good as we got and we are always a threat, even though we were hanging on at the end.”
“We’re a really good side, we pass it well and we’ve got players that want to well for themselves and for the football club.”
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers blamed his side’s poor start to the second half for their defeat, as they conceded all three goals within 17 minutes of the restart.
“We weren’t at our best today,” Rodgers said.
“We went to sleep in the first period of the second half and Norwich are a team that scores goals, and if you don’t do your jobs properly then they’ll punish you.”
“It was a close first half, but we managed to score an outstanding goal, we nearly went two goals up but for a great bit of defending.”
“We were unfortunate not to get anything at the end, but congratulations to Norwich because this is a difficult place to come and that’s great credit to our players.”
