Lamine Kone linked with Premiership move

Lorient defender Lamine Kone could be set for a January switch to English Premier League, according to French daily newspaper L’Equipe.

The 24-year-old has impressed in this year’s Ligue 1, catching the eye of quite a few clubs from abroad.

L’Equipe has suggested that the likes of Hull City, West Ham and Sunderland are all interested in signing the centre-back in the January transfer window.

Lamine Kone has been an integral part of the back line that had kept five straight clean sheets in the league before finally conceding at the weekend against Ajaccio.

He has made a total of 70 Ligue 1 appearances for les Merlus, scoring five goals in the process, but it appears he is on the verge of leaving the club for greener pastures.

Lamine Kone started his career at Chateauroux, making 74 league appearances for the club before moving to Lorient in the summer of 2010.
