One of the well documented stories of the summer is that of Frank Lampard. The 30 year-old is known to be keen on a reunion with former manager Jose Mourinho, currently at Inter Milan. But, Chelsea were thought to be equally keen to keep the talismanic midfielder at the club at least until his contract expires next summer.
Now The Sun reveals that new Chelsea boss Scolari has no intentions to keep a player at the club against his will.
“Mr Scolari agreed that there was no point hanging on to a player who didn’t feel good about his deal.
“The last thing Mr Scolari wants is a player who is not 100 per cent content.†Revealed a Portuguese source, according to The Sun.
The report goes on to say that Scolari was resigned to let Lampard go even before he officially joined the club on Monday and that he even promised to help the player with his move. Despite this, he insisted that Lampard will be staying at the club during his first press conference as Chelsea boss on Monday.
