Frank Lampard has been given the green light to play in Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan on Wednesday after recovering from the virus that forced him to sit out the weekend win over Wolves.
The England midfielder was among a 16-man squad that flew out to Milan ahead of Wednesday’s first leg of the last-16 tie, which will see Chelsea go head-to-head with former manager Jose Mourinho, now in charge of Inter.
Defenders Alex and Juliano Belletti also returned to the squad following recent knee problems but head coach Carlo Ancelotti is without a recognised left-back after Russian wingback Yury Zhirkov was ruled out with a calf problem.
Ashley Cole is currently sidelined by an ankle injury and Paulo Ferreira is not registered for the Champions League.
