The London Evening Standard is reporting that Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, has all but guaranteed a deal with LA Galaxy and will move there in the summer.
The England international is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the English Premier League season and the Blues don’t look like offering him a new deal, so a free transfer move to the MLS is becoming more and more likely.
The Galaxy are after a replacement for David Beckham, who is now on the search for a new club and they believe that Lampard would be a superb bit of business.
On his day, the 34-year-old is still one of the best around at what he does and his performances for the European Champions have been right out of the top drawer in recent weeks, so it is strange that Chelsea are happy to let him go.
He can set up a deal with the American side now and move there in the summer, but there might still be a number of offers from big clubs around Europe.
It is thought that Lampard would like to stay in England if possible, but he also feels a loyalty to Chelsea.
We shall see.
