According to Sky Sports News, Inter Milan director Gabriele Oriali claims Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard ‘really wants’ to join the Italian champions but the Blues are determined not to sell the 30-year-old.
Chelsea has rejected an £8million bid from Inter for Lampard, who has 12 months remaining on his current contract. Lampard has also been unable to agree terms on an extension, reportedly asking for a new four year contract with a weekly pay of £150 000.
And even if Chelsea were forced to sell, Inter would have to get the figures right as Liverpool were willing to pay up to £17 million for lesser pedigree in the form of Gareth Barry.
Chief executive Peter Kenyon has stated that the England international will see out his present contract at Stamford Bridge, even if a new contract cannot be agreed.
