Lanús eliminated after Universitario draw

(GSM) – Universitario remained in the hunt for a Round of 16 berth in the Copa Libertadores after they eliminated Lanús with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.

Universitario came into the day level on points with Libertad in Group 4, but they could not break down the Argentinians.

Libertad went on to win the group with a win at Blooming.

Despite finishing second, Universitario are not guaranteed a knockout-round berth just yet, but they sit in fine position to claim one of the six spots available.
