Former Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra has moved to reveal that United States could be his next destination.
The 31-year-old recently rescinded his contract with Marseille, meaning that he is now a free agent, although his representatives want his future employers to cover the €10 million the player was ordered to pay Lokomotiv Moscow for the breach of contract.
Diarra is currently on the lookout for a new club and he has revealed he is thinking about United States and the Middle East.
“If I have to play again, it will be from next season. I like the United States, there is the Middle East as well,” Diarra told beINSPORTS.
“It is also a culture that corresponds with me because I am a Muslim. If I have to be honest with you, these are the two options.”
It seems that Lassana Diarra has given up on playing at the highest level and he intends to spend the final years of his career in a low-pressure environment.
The general impression is that the midfielder has failed to reach his full potential and he definitely needs to take part of the blame for failing to make the most out of the opportunity that presented itself.
