Russian daily newspaper Izvestia has learned that Arsenal and Manchester City are showing interest in Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Lassana Diarra.
The same source has suggested that both clubs have already informed the Russian side of their interest and are expected to make concrete moves in January.
It remains to be seen whether Lokomotiv chiefs will be ready to cash in on their prized asset, with Diarra playing at a very high level of late.
The 28-year-old arrived from Anzhi this summer and has so far made 11 league appearances, scoring one goal in the process.
He is one of the highest paid players at the club with a €4 million yearly wage, and is probably not too keen on leaving his current employers.
However, a return to the biggest stage could appeal to the midfielder who has spent last year and a half in Russia having previously ended his spell at Real Madrid.
