France Football understands that Marseille midfielder Lassana Diarra could be on the move after all this summer.
The experienced midfielder was linked with quite a few top clubs during last season, but a €10 million fine he was ordered to pay former club Lokomotiv Moscow proved a major obstacle to any deal.
Turkish giants Galatasaray were close to signing Diarra in the dying moments of the summer transfer window, but the deal ultimately fell through.
And just as it seemed that the 31-year-old would remain at Stade Velodrome at least until the winter, Al Jazira have emerged as favourites for his signature.
Namely, the transfer window in United Arab Emirates is still open and the Abu Dhabi outfit hope to make Lassana Diarra their second marquee signing of the summer.
Al Jazira recruited Mbark Boussoufa back in July, while Jefferson Farfan had joined from Schalke a year ago.
