(GSM) – France head coach Laurent Blanc has revealed that he is unhappy Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema after he reported late for international duty.
The former Olympique Lyon striker was not involved in Real’s 6-1 thrashing of Deportivo La Coruña on Sunday, something that has added to Blanc’s frustration.
Despite France’s team meeting on Monday being pushed back an additional hour, some players were still unable to report on time.
But Blanc has ruled out the possibility of sanctioning players for indiscipline in the event of so many internationals already suspended.
France tackle Romania and Luxembourg in their upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers and have a number of players unavailable following their infamous strike in last summer’s World Cupfinals in South Africa.
“He did not play (in La Liga) so (Benzema) should have been on time,” said Blanc.
“The meeting had been pushed back to 1130, 1230, and yet some are showing up late.
“I think that even if the meeting was at 2030, some would still be late.
“We already have suspended players, we’re not going to shoot ourselves in the foot.”
